Salon Nayana guide · Reviewed August 2026
Mothers are often treated as ordinary guest appointments even though they may hold the busiest family role. A protected plan gives them time to prepare, dress and still be present for the people and moments that need them.
List every responsibility before the appointment
Record family blessings, ritual preparation, bride or groom support, guest greeting, portraits, transport and venue checks. The earliest of these becomes the real completion deadline.
Plan the complete outfit
Share the saree, lehenga, dress or other outfit, neckline, jewellery, glasses, flowers and hair accessories. If a drape or dupatta needs assistance, count it as a separate service rather than leaving it for the final minutes.
Choose comfort as part of the finish
Discuss how long the event lasts, the amount of time outdoors, mobility needs and the person’s usual make-up. The mother should feel recognisable, comfortable and able to move through her family role without constantly managing the look.
Protect privacy and calm
A mother may benefit from preparing in the bride’s quieter room or a protected family zone rather than a busy guest suite. Decide the location before the schedule is issued so she does not move between rooms carrying jewellery and clothing.
Plan outfit changes between events
For consecutive ceremonies or a reception change, decide whether a full new service, a touch-up or only dressing support is needed. Count and schedule the actual requirement instead of assuming the first look carries through every function.
A few things families ask
Helpful answers for later
Should mothers get ready at the same time as the bride?
Not automatically. Use each person’s earliest responsibility, desired privacy and outfit needs to decide the sequence.
Can mothers book full dressing?
Hair, make-up and saree draping or dressing can be included in the confirmed wedding-party brief.
What should a mother bring to the consultation or brief?
Share the complete outfit, jewellery, hair accessories, reference images, known sensitivities and the event responsibilities that determine her deadline.
Tell us about the celebration you are imagining.
A date, destination and rough idea of the group is enough to begin. We can talk through the details together later.
